What is Chateau Hairouna?
Posted on August 17 2018
Chateau is a French word meaning castle or house of lords. The French were the first European nation to colonize the island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Hairouna is what the Caribs, the original people of Saint Vincent, called the island; this translates to "land of the blessed".
Chateau Hairouna is a place to house and share the story of items and people we believe are a blessing. We hope to build a community of people who support small businesses in many ways! We will help share the stories of these individuals by words, pictures, videos, and presenting their creations. Chateau Hairouna hopes to give you the experience of what it feels like to be in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines personally. This community is a community of love.

He not only captures the landscapes, he also captures the beautiful interactions with the people. Visit and experience Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for yourself and you too will know why it was given the name Hairouna.
